There can be other related excuses too, like you are caught up with flu or some other contagious ailment. In cases of such excuse, no one will force you to attend the party because what if they force you to attend and they get the same symptoms.
2. My Car Broke on the Way
This excuse works most of the times, yes obviously if you were smart enough to save it for a real emergency situation like this “attending office party“. You can make things sound and look more genuine by taking a cab to office next day or by randomly discussing about the cost of repairs.
3. Unavailability of Public Transport during Night Hours
If you are the one who travel to office through public transport, you mostly have a very handy excuse. I promised my brother to help with mathematics and he has exam in one day. Now obviously, your priority would be the education of your brother not the fin time of office party.

It is very painful in fact am feeling little feverish as well and also I cannot eat or drink anything for next few hours. 8. My Cat is Grumpy
Lately my cat is behaving real weird and aggressive; she even scratched and tore my new sofa last night. I have to stay back home as there was gas leakage and no one else was home to attend the technician. It can be very dangerous. House hold emergencies work better than any other family emergency some times. You cannot always make your mom dad ill or sister ill always to took a day off or to avoid an official event.
10. Airport Visit
I have to go and fetch my uncle from Airport, he is coming after 20 years and that too on our constant appeals and invites and Dad can’t drive now.
11. Your Kid’s Birthday or Your wedding Anniversary
Actually its Sam’s (put your kid’s name) birthday, me and my wife promised him an outing at Splash (name of place) with his close friends. She is not keeping well and now I have to manage alone the whole celebration. Same works with excuse of your wedding anniversary as well.
12. Diarrhea
This one health emergency is one of the best excuses ever. Blame it the sandwich you had in the canteen of office or any other meal, but this is for sure you will be excused.
